Torquay winger Ian Morris will have an operation on Friday to remove a piece of floating bone in his knee.

The 24-year-old broke down during light running at a coaching course last week and a subsequent scan showed the problem.

Gulls boss Martin Ling already expects to be without Morris for two months, although he is hopeful going under the knife will speed up his recovery.

"We'll know better how long Ian will be out after his op," he told the Herald Express.

"The fact that it can be cleared up will help matters in his own mind."
