Aldershot boss Dean Holdsworth was full of praise after his side beat Rochdale 2-1 to progress to the Carling Cup fourth round.
Ashley Grimes gave the visitors a half-time lead, but second-half goals from Michael Rankine and Danny Hylton were enough to secure passage to the next round for the Shots.
Holdsworth told the club's official website: "This is amazing. We should be very proud and very happy. Nobody will begrudge us enjoying this evening because you have to enjoy the highs because they can change very quickly.
"I said to the players at half-time, 'Are you ready to play the best 45 minutes of your life?', because it was going to make a difference. It was going to take pieces of magic and it took two pieces and I am delighted.
"We have made history and I am proud about that. It is poignant and I am proud for the club. It is delight all round and I am pleased for the people who have been here from the reform and onwards.
"I always expect more from these players and I am trying as a manager to keep them with me but to keep pushing them too. My staff are superb and they have all helped this football club achieve something that they have never done before so it is a great night."
