Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson was surprised by Ben Tomlinson's record-breaking strike in his side's 1-1 draw with Morecambe.
Tomlinson opened the scoring after just seven seconds in the League Two clash at Moss Rose on Tuesday night before in-form striker Danny Carlton equalised for the Shrimps in the first half.
On Tomlinson's goal, Simpson admitted: "I certainly had nothing to do with it. It wasn't my plan but he's just put his head down and gone for it and it was a great strike."
Simpson, however, was adamant that Carlton's leveller after 15 minutes should not have counted.
"Danny Carlton has backed in to Shaun Brisley but somehow the ref's given it the other way," he said.
"I couldn't believe it but then the ball's been whipped into the box and they've scored off a ricochet. They're certainly getting all the luck at the moment."
