Sanchez bemoans Bees defending

Image: Sanchez: Wants tighter defence

Lawrie Sanchez says Barnet need to start defending properly if they are to survive after they slipped to a 3-1 defeat at Crewe.

Goals either side of the break from Luke Murphy and Shaun Miller put Crewe in the driving seat in Saturday's League Two clash at Gresty Road before Izale McLeod pounced to threaten a comeback. But Adam Dugdale tapped in a late third for Crewe to ensure they stretched their winning run to three games. Sanchez said: "We need to sort ourselves out defensively. It's hard to win football matches when you concede as many goals as we do. "Izale could easily score 30 this season if he stays injury-free but his goals are being wasted as we are conceding two or three every week. "We've had a lot of injuries which is frustrating and we are stretched. We are talking to a player at the moment to see if he will join us. "When they went two-up we pretty much dominated the game and created chance after chance. We must have had four decent chances to score off set-plays alone."
