Bentley: It's still early days

Morecambe produced the shock result of the day to crush Crawley 6-0 and continue Jim Bentley's dream start to managerial life.

Danny Carlton was the hero in Saturday's League Two clash at the Globe Arena with a superb hat-trick - which added to goals from Nick Fenton, Kevin Ellison and Laurence Wilson - that sees the Shrimps remain the early pacesetters. After seeing Morecambe clinch their biggest ever Football League win, Bentley said: "It was a great result and I am very, very pleased because everything came together. Everyone at the club has been working really hard since we took over to get things right and we got our rewards. "I can't praise the lads enough really. We were solid at the back and always looked a threat up front and to score six against a side like Crawley, and to keep another clean sheet, was fantastic. "It's still early days yet and we have to keep our feet on the ground but we can enjoy the moment. A lot of people have worked really hard this season to make the improvements we have made so far, but there is a long, long way to go. "We have another tough game on Tuesday to look forward to now and we have to make sure we don't lose our focus for that game. However, we have to enjoy moments like this and look to get some more as the season goes on."
