Southend striker Matt Paterson has completed his six-month loan to Hamilton Academical.
The 21-year-old will hope he can provide the goals that will enable the Accies to achieve an instant return to the SPL after last season's relegation.
Skysports.com revealed on Monday that a deal was close to being struck for the player who began his career at Southampton.
Paterson was loaned out to Stockport last season and has failed to break into Paul Sturrock's first-team plans.
He recently had a trial at Oxford United but a deal with the League Two club failed to materialise.
Paterson has just one year left on his contract and will hope to impress Accies boss Billy Reid during his tenure at Douglas Park.
