Jo Kuffour insists he is happy to be starting the season as a Bristol Rovers player despite being linked with a move away.
Kuffour, 29, is entering his fourth year with the Pirates and expressed his excitement at working under new boss Paul Buckle.
"I am happy to be here," Kuffour told the club's official website. "There was a lot of talk over the summer, but I decided to stay. Now we will just get our heads down and work towards the same goal, which will be promotion come the end of the year.
"When the new gaffer came in, I had heard a lot of good things about him and I saw what he did at Torquay last year, so it was interesting for me to stay here and work with him.
"I am interested in the project the manager is building here. With all the new players and the old ones still here, I think we have a very good squad for this league."
