Bristol Rovers have signed trialist Michael Boateng on a one-year deal.

The right-back, 19, has impressed Pirates boss Paul Buckle having linked up with Rovers for the past few weeks. Boateng started his career with Crystal Palace but was plying his trade for Carshalton Athletic last season. "I have really enjoyed it here and I want to thank Paul Buckle and Shaun North (assistant manager), they have taught me a lot in the weeks I have been here and I want to keep learning," Boateng told the club's official website. "I love training every day and feel like I am getting sharper and fitter. "I am a right-back and like to get forward when I can. I can play anywhere on the right, but I will play anywhere for the gaffer. "My hopes are to work hard and get into the team, it is a really strong team but hopefully I can be involved as much as possible."
