Taiwo Atieno is to be offered a contract by Torquay following a successful trial spell at Plainmoor.
The striker, released by League Two play-off final victors Stevenage at the end of last season, has impressed during his two-week spell, scoring in both pre-season victories over Tiverton and Bristol City.
Manager Martin Ling said: "Taiwo scored a goal and showed his ability in the first-half against Bristol City.
"I'm going to offer him something on Monday. It was a two-week trial and he's done enough to be offered something.
"Whether there is also another team out there, you never know, but he's shown me what he's about in the last two weeks."
