Simon Eastwood has signed for non-league Halifax following his release by Oxford.
The goalkeeper, 21, was told he had no future at the Kassam Stadium at the end of last season, despite being halfway through a two-year deal.
Eastwood signed for the U's last summer from Huddersfield but failed to make a single appearance for the club in 2010/11.
He will now ply his trade in the Blue Square Bet North following Halifax's promotion last month.
