Torquay winger Danny Stevens has verbally agreed a new deal with manager Martin Ling.

Stevens, who scored three goals in 45 appearances for the Gulls last season, is out of contract this summer but now appears set to remain at Plainmoor for a fifth season. Ling, only appointed last week, told the Western Morning News: "The deal with Danny is near enough done, although there are still a couple of I's to dot and T's to cross. Verbally, we have agreed." Meanwhile, Torquay plan to revamp their training ground over the next 12 months, a year after first moving to the Seale Hayne site. Ling's squad will still have use of one half of the area available but the other, which currently houses the pavilion, will be flattened and facilities enhanced, with work expected to be completed by this time next year.
