Defender delighted to sign two-year contract after leaving Barnet

Swindon Town have finally confirmed the capture of Joe Devera from League Two rivals Barnet. Devera, 24, was the Bees' player of the year last season and has turned down a new contract at Underhill to link up with new Robins boss Paolo Di Canio. A product of Barnet's youth system, and with 200 games under his belt for the club, Devera has officially penned a two-year contract at Swindon. News broke of his impending move earlier this week, and he told Swindon's official website: "It's been a long wait but I am delighted to have got everything sorted. "It was time I moved on from Barnet and I've been aware of Swindon for quite a while. I have played here at the County Ground for Barnet and it's a great set-up." He added: "Last season was a busy one with what happened at Barnet but I'm delighted to be a Swindon player and I cannot wait for the season to start."
