Former Lincoln striker not keen to play in Blue Square Premier
Experienced target man Drewe Broughton has set his sights on staying in the Football League next season after leaving relegated Lincoln City.
The 32-year-old endured a frustrating spell with the Imps, making just nine starts as they slipped into the Blue Square Bet Premier for the first time in 24 years.
However, the former Rotherham striker says that, having experienced life outside the Football League during a month's loan with AFC Wimbledon last season, he is determined to remain in the top four divisions of English football for as long as possible.
"I want to stay in the Football League as long as I can, which is no disrespect to the Blue Square Bet Premier because it is a very tough league and during the month I was at AFC Wimbledon we played some big clubs, such as Grimsby, Wrexham, Luton and Crawley," Broughton told

"However, I've played in the Football League for pretty much 14 years and out of pride and for my own standards I'd like to stay in it for as long as possible, as most players would.
Frustrating
"Last season was a really frustrating season for me and I hardly played any football, which was desperately disappointing.
"I went to AFC Wimbledon to kick-start my season in February and I didn't realise that they wanted me just as cover for Danny Kedwell, who is obviously their main striker and was playing quite well.
"I managed to score a couple of goals in four or five games, but it was quite obvious that I was always going to be used as a back-up unless he got injured, so I went back to Lincoln.
"However, I never really got a chance there either, so it was highly frustrating for me."
