Morecambe left-back Laurence Wilson has given his side a boost by penning a new one-year deal with the club.

The former Everton trainee joined the Shrimps from Chester City two years ago and has made 89 appearances, scoring six times. Wilson, 24, told the club's official website: "I'm delighted to have signed on again and am excited about working with Jim Bentley. "I was out of contract at the end of the season and Jim has been on the phone to me almost non-stop since he took over and that played a big part in me signing again. It is nice to know someone wants you so much." Meanwhile, four Morecambe youngsters have each signed one-year professional contracts at the Globe Arena. Teenagers Sean Breen, Dan Parkinson, Joe Culshaw and Joe Mwasilie will all join Bentley's first-team squad next season having impressed for the club's youth and reserve sides. Bentley said: "All the boys we have signed have talent and I want to give them a chance to develop. Niall Cowperthwaite did well when he got his chance in the first team at the end of the season and I would love us to bring more boys through in the future."
