Ellison joins on a free transfer and Haining signs new contract
Morecambe have snapped up winger Kevin Ellison on a free transfer and have secured defender Will Haining on a new contract.
Ellison has signed a 12-month deal at the Globe Arena after recently being released by Morecambe's League Two rivals Rotherham United following a loan spell at Bradford City.
Haining, meanwhile, has accepted a new two-year contract after making 48 appearances since joining the Shrimps in 2009.
New Morecambe boss Jim Bentley told the club's official website: "I am delighted to have signed both players.
"They both have a great deal of experience at this level and are big characters to have around.
"When I took over Will was one of the first people I rang because he is a player I have always admired and wanted him to stay on.
"Kevin is a left-sided player who I have had some great battles with over the years and he is a player I have long admired."
