Mark Roberts insists leading Stevenage out at Old Trafford in the League Two play-off final will be fulfilling a dream.
The 27-year-old, a lifelong Manchester United supporter, will be hoping to lead his side's charge as they aim to complete back-to-back promotions.
Victory over Torquay would see Stevenage plying their trade in English football's third tier for the first time in their 25-year existence and Roberts believes Old Trafford can provide the perfect backdrop for history to be made.
"As a Manchester United fan who sat in the Stretford End as a boy, it will be one of the proudest moments of my life leading the team out on to the hallowed Old Trafford turf," Roberts told the Stevenage Comet.
"On a personal level, it will be even bigger than captaining the team at Wembley but the day will only be one I wish to remember if we win the game.
"Back in July this squad began our journey together with the dream of promotion to League One. It is apt, then, that on Saturday at the 'Theatre of Dreams' we can make that happen."
