Hereford United manager Jamie Pitman is hoping Rob Purdie and Joe Heath sign new contracts in the next week.

Midfielder Purdie, who was already on loan at Edgar Street, signed a six-month deal in January following his release by Oldham.

Defender Heath was released by Exeter on Monday having been on loan at Hereford since late November, making 30 starts.

Pitman is also looking to bring in a handful of new faces as he aims to strengthen his ranks in the summer transfer market.

He told Press Association Sport: "I'm still talking to Rob, hopefully we can come to some agreement in the next week or so. Joe Heath is just looking over his and hopefully he'll be signing in the next few days, by the end of the week.

"So that's another two more to what we've got and then we're hoping we can get four or five more in to just boost that up."
