Accrington Stanley defender Phil Edwards wants his side to push for automatic League Two promotion next season.
Stanley missed out on a trip to Old Trafford for the play-off final when they went down 3-0 to Stevenage in their two-legged semi.
Edwards insists the experience will stand them in good stead for next term0 providing they can shake off the "hangover" of defeat in the play-offs.
He said: "Obviously we're proud of what we've done but at this particular moment we're down because we haven't got where we wanted to be.
"Overall it has been a good season and we've now got to try and learn from this play-off experience and maybe get up automatically next time.
"We can't have a hangover from this. If we do we'll end up going the other way down the table and that's certainly not what we want to do."
