Aldershot have completed the capture of out-of-contract striker Michael Rankine from Blue Square Bet Premier side York.
Speculation regarding the 26-year-old's switch to the EBB Stadium has been rife this week, with Rankine available on a free transfer after he turned down a new deal with the Minstermen in January due to the financial terms on offer. Rankine has spent the past two seasons with York - scoring 23 goals in 105 appearances - 14 of which came this term. Shots manager Dean Holdsworth told the club's official website: "I am delighted to announced that Michael Rankine will be joining the club on July 1 2011."
