Wilder hails 'improving' Batt

Oxford boss Chris Wilder has heaped praise on Damien Batt but insists the defender still has more improving to do.

The 26-year-old right-back missed the first two months of the season with an ankle injury but has since produced a string of impressive performances which resulted in him being named in the PFA League Two team of the year on Sunday night. "He's an improving player in his first year in the League, so we're just looking for him to keep improving," Wilder told the Oxford Mail. "It's good recognition for him from his fellow professionals." Wilder added: "He possibly needs to add a little more consistency to his play, as do many of the players, but on his day he's more than a handful for any team and he's an eye-catching player. "But he's got to keep improving, and hopefully he can."
