Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy admits he would like to keep Northern Ireland international Tony Capaldi.
The left-back has been offered another contract after Capaldi's current short-term deal ran out on Monday.
Capaldi, who has been attracting interest from SPL side Aberdeen, has impressed the Morecambe boss with his recent performances.
McIlroy is hopeful that the former Cardiff man will stay at the club until the end of the season.
"We have spoken to Tony and offered him a new deal and we definitely want him to stay," McIlroy told the club's official site.
"He has shown his quality in the past few weeks and played a big part in our success.
"We will continue talking and we will do all we can to keep him here."
