Oxford United have snapped up former Tranmere Rovers midfielder Paul McLaren on a contract until the end of the season.
McLaren left Tranmere in November and he has recently been training with Oxford in the hope of securing a contract.
The 34-year-old has now earned a deal at the Kassam Stadium and he is looking forward to making his mark for the League Two club.
"I'm looking forward to getting started at Oxford," McLaren told the club's official website.
"It is a great set-up here and I really want to play well for the club and hope to break into the first team soon."
Us boss Chris Wilder added: "We are delighted to sign Paul until the end of the season.
"We tried to sign him in the summer but we couldn't, so when he became available we jumped at the opportunity to sign him."
