Wycombe Wanderers striker Scott Rendell is pleased to have returned to the top of the Chairboys' goalscoring charts.

The striker scored two goals in the FA Cup win over Chelmsford at the weekend to take his tally for the season to eight, and feels it is only right a striker should be topping the scoring table.

"The defenders and midfielders are there for a reason and the charts are for the strikers," he told the Buckinghamshire Examiner.

"We all need everyone to chip in, including Andy Sandell and Kevin Betsy, but I am glad to be top of it.

"I have been working hard on the training ground and it is starting to show on the pitch. I have scored five and could have had a couple more.

"I have made my name and pride myself on scoring goals in the box and I am starting to show that now and can hopefully get another chance in the next game at Crewe."
