Sam Williams has apologised to Yeovil fans after his reaction to being subbed during Tuesday's 2-0 defeat at Bournemouth.

Williams was replaced in the 68th minute and appeared to react to fans who cheered the substitution, but he said his reaction was born out of frustration at seeing his side slip to their 11th defeat of the season. Williams said: "I was frustrated with the way the match was going for both the team and myself but I shouldn't have let my frustrations rise to the surface like that. "We are all so desperate to turn this bad run around and the last thing I wanted to do was to upset our wonderful fans. "I am now more than ever up for the battle ahead and I want to assure our supporters I will continue to give my all for the club. I would like to sincerely apologise to the supporters and thank them for their continued loyal support." Yeovil manager Terry Skiverton added: "It was a lapse in the heat of the moment by Sam, but he has been humble enough to apologise for his actions and I hope that will be an end to the matter."
