Broughton baffled by Sutton exit

Lincoln striker Drewe Broughton was shocked at the news of manager Chris Sutton's resignation at Sincil Bank.

Sutton and his assistant Ian Pearce oversaw a 0-0 draw with Burton on Tuesday night but barely 12 hours later the club announced they had quit for personal reasons. "There was no hint at all, he was very complementary and full of praise for the performance," Broughton told Sky Sports News. "He was certain we were turning a corner and going to get results sooner rather than later. "We haven't had the best of starts and in some games we have gone close but I'm sure we'll turn a corner. It was a good performance against Burton. "I've always admired Chris as a player and he was the main reason why I signed for Lincoln."
