Wycombe striker Jon-Paul Pittman will go undergo an operation on a ruptured tendon in his left knee on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old had two scans and a meeting with a specialist before it was decided the only treatment would be to go under the knife. The injury was picked up in the warm-up against Macclesfield and it is expected the popular front-man will be out for a minimum of four months. Head of medical sports science Stuart Ayles told the club's official website: "It's an unfortunate injury at an unfortunate time for JP but his strong character will undoubtedly help during his rehab and return to fitness." Manager Gary Waddock added: "JP's injury is a big blow to us. Hopefully the operation goes well and we will continue to monitor his progress. We look forward to welcoming him back into the group when he's ready."
