Burton defender Ryan Austin is working on his fitness and is close to returning from his 10-month injury nightmare.
The 25-year-old came through his first 90-minute outing since knee surgery in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Wolves on Tuesday.
Albion boss Paul Peschisolido said: "Ryan is not a million miles away. He did well against a very strong Wolves side and getting 90 minutes under his belt without a problem will have done him the world of good.
"Getting Ryan's match fitness right and that bit of confidence you need in your head after a serious injury is all he needs to work on now, but he is not a million miles away from being back in the squad.
"He will be a terrific addition at a time when we have got a few missing."
