Wycombe midfielder Gareth Ainsworth insists he has no problem with being left out of the starting eleven.

The 37-year-old came off the bench to rack up his 500th career appearance against Oxford on Saturday after manager Gary Waddock chose 19-year-old Matty Phillips in his place.

Ainsworth said: "I was not thinking about the record when I came on but in hindsight I am very proud.

"I don't have a problem with being left out. I was keeping players out of teams when I was 19 and now he is keeping me out.

"You have to get behind whoever starts because we could all see the roles reversed."
