Morecambe manager Sammy McIlroy has rejected an offer for Paul Mullin from the striker's former club Accrington Stanley.
Mullin has yet to start a match for the Shrimps this season, but has appeared as a late substitute in all four of the club's fixtures.
He was wanted back on loan at Stanley, but McIlroy insists the 36-year-old remains part of his plans this season.
"Accrington have enquired about Paul and we have let him know about that," McIlroy told the club's official website.
"He hasn't started a game so far, but he is still very much a part of our plans.
"We are playing a different system at the minute, but that can change at any time and Paul will be a big part of that when we do.''
Stanley boss John Coleman, who saw Mullin leave for Morecambe last year, said: "It would be great for us to have him back at the club and great for him too.
"He is one of the best signings I have ever made and we hope we can get him back."
