Lincoln striker Drewe Broughton feels he can continue playing for at least another four or five years.

Striker enjoying working with Lincoln boss Sutton

Lincoln City's experienced striker Drewe Broughton believes that he can continue playing professional football for at least another four or five years. The 31-year-old joined the Imps over the summer after being released by Rotherham United at the end of last season. The well-travelled striker has struggled to establish himself at a number of clubs down the years after picking up various injuries, but reckons that Lincoln fans will see the best of him this season. "I honestly believe that these next four or five years will be the best in my career because physically I am in good condition and the experience I have gained will help me a lot, so I'm confident that my game will go from strength to strength," Broughton told skysports.com. "I'll have another look at where I am when I hit the 35 mark and check whether I still have the drive and motivation that I have now and if so then you take it year by year really. "I'm feeling great at the moment, so hopefully I can remain fully fit and have a really good season with Lincoln." The Imps have had a sluggish start to the season, currently propping up the League Two table after tasting defeat in both games so far, but Broughton is confident that manager Chris Sutton is the right person to turn things around.

Unique

He added: "I loved working for Chris whilst I was here on loan last season and that was one of the main reasons why I came back here over the summer. "His methods of coaching are unique and I think they are a breath of fresh air really, so there is no doubt in my mind that he can turn things around. "I believe that one day he will manage at the top level of the game, so any side that is managed by him should do well this season and hopefully that starts on Saturday."
