Oxford United have made a further addition to their squad by signing Chelsea striker Danny Philliskirk on a one-month loan.
The 19-year-old joined the Blues in 2007 from Oldham but has yet to break into the senior squad despite appearing at reserve level last season.
The former England Under 17 international is highly regarded as a talented player and will go straight into the Oxford squad for Monday's pre-season friendly at Banbury United.
Speaking of the signing, manager Chris Wilder was positive the youngster would make an impact at the Kassam Stadium.
"He's a young prospect that I saw at Oldham as a kid and then Chelsea bought him for quite big money. It comes to a stage at 19 where he maybe needs to go and get involved with a senior club," Wilder told the club's official website.
"We have good connections with Chelsea and went through the channels and they were happy for him to come out and gain experience.
"He is a young boy but I think maybe people underestimate the level we are playing at now. We felt we needed an extra body in and he will benefit from the time here.
"Chelsea play in the three up front so he is used to playing in that. If he does well then he has a great opportunity here."
