Goalkeeper signs Roots Hall deal after Os exit

Southend have signed goalkeeper Glenn Morris on a one-year pre-contract agreement after his release by Leyton Orient. The 26-year-old is a free agent after being shown the door by the Os at the end of last season. He has been training with the Shrimpers for the past two weeks and played the first half of the friendly against Derby on Monday night. The move can be finalised once the transfer embargo currently imposed on the League Two club has been lifted. Morris' arrival is Paul Sturrock's ninth signing since becoming manager at Roots Hall just a fortnight ago.
