Veteran striker makes Dragons return

Andy Morrell has left Bury to join former club Wrexham on a free transfer. The 35-year-old veteran signed for the Shakers in 2008 playing 78 games and scoring 18 goals for the Lancashire club, who finished just outside the play-off places in League Two last season. The striker returns to the club where he made his name after leaving the Racecourse Ground in 2003 for Coventry, with a spell at Blackpool to follow before he moved to Gigg Lane. The move means Morrell drops down out of the Football League to link up with another former Bury striker Andy Mangan as manager Dean Saunders looks to bring the Red Dragons back into League Two. "Andy leaves with our best wishes for the future and our thanks for his service over the last two years." read a statement from the club's official website.
