Midfielder signs new terms at Underhill

Barnet midfielder Mark Hughes has penned a new one-year contract extension with the club. Hughes made 41 league appearances for the Bees last season, scoring two goals, and has now signed fresh terms at Underhill. The 26-year-old Northern Ireland international committing his future to the club becomes the latest boost for new manager Mark Stimson this summer. He told the club's official website: "I have obviously enjoyed my time at Barnet and am looking forward to working with the new management team and trying to re-establish my place in the team when the pre-season friendlies start." Meanwhile, Frenchman Kenny Gillet has turned down a contract offer from Barnet, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the month. The left-back has played exactly 100 league games for the club but is set to move on to pastures new if an agreement cannot be reached. Barnet have signed a number of players so far this summer as they look to get promoted from League Two next term.
