Bury defender David Buchanan rates himself as one of the best left-backs in League Two.
The 24-year-old has been offered a new contract by the Shakers having proved his worth at Gigg Lane in the last two seasons.
Alan Knill, who has seen his men twice fall short in the promotion race, is eager to secure Buchanan's services for the future.
And the youngster has proved that he is clearly not short on confidence after giving himself a star-studded appraisal.
He told the Bury Times: "I think I am one of the best left-backs in the league and I am confident in my own ability.
"Over the last two seasons I have been part of a team that is challenging near the top and played the majority of matches.
"I think I have improved over the last 12 months. Although I am still young I think I am one of the more experienced players in the dressing room now.
"I see myself as a leader on and off the pitch. I think I am becoming more experienced just through the kind of stuff I have had to deal with."
