Brentford boss Andy Scott expects Carl Cort to sign a new deal, but has told Ben Strevens he can leave.

Strevens told he can go if right offer comes in

Brentford boss Andy Scott expects Carl Cort to sign a new contract, but has told fellow striker Ben Strevens he can leave the club. Cort scored seven goals in 30 appearances for Brentford this season and has been offered a deal to stay at Griffin Park. The experienced striker is currently on holiday and has been linked with Sheffield Wednesday, although Scott is confident Cort will commit to the Bees. "We've made an offer to Carl, and from the last conversation we had, he was happy with it, and we expect him to sign," Scott told the Hounslow Chronicle. Meanwhile, Strevens has confirmed that he has been told by Scott that he will be allowed to leave Brentford over the summer if the right offer comes in. Strevens said: "The gaffer's looking to strengthen up front, and obviously anyone he brings he's going to be looking to play. "I don't want to be at a club just to pick up the money - I'm not that type of player. So it might be better to get me off the wage bill and allow him to bring someone else in. "It's 50/50 at the moment whether I'll be at the club next season. The gaffer's said if the right offer comes in for me and the club, then he's happy for me to move on."
