Former Barnsley man looking forward to challenge

Burton Albion have agreed a deal to sign veteran stopper Darren Moore. The 36-year-old arrives after being freed by Championship Barnsley at the end of the season. Moore, who has played over 500 games in his career, has now opted to move down to League Two. "This is a fresh challenge that I'm looking forward to," he said. "I want to maximise my playing potential and I can do that at Burton. I offer a wealth of experience, I'm a no nonsense type of player. "I will always give my best and I expect the players around me to give their best as well." Meanwhile, the club have also handed a new contract to full-back Paul Boertien - who joined from Walsall last summer. "When Boets came in, his contract wasn't particularly good," said manager Paul Peschisolido. "I said to him 'prove to everyone what a good player you are and we'll sort out a better deal.' Well, he's done that, we wanted to keep him here and we've agreed terms that will keep him with us next season. "I knew what we were getting with him. He's a steady Eddie and you couldn't have a better professional."
