Justin Richards is hoping he will be offered a new contract at Cheltenham Town after playing an important role in the club's surge towards safety.
Richards has 15 crucial goals to his name this season and his contribution has gone a long way to preserving the club's Football League status, as they are all but mathematically safe from relegation.
The striker only arrived at Whaddon Road last summer - penning a one-year deal - having left a Kidderminster side then managed by now Cheltenham boss Mark Yates.
Goals flowed for Richards at non-league level, a different story to his spells at Peterborough and Bristol Rovers, and the 29-year-old believes this is his first campaign in the professional ranks in which he has been on top of his game.
"I'd definitely like to be here next season if they'll have me," Richards told the
Gloucestershire Echo.
"This has been 100% my first season in the League as far as I am concerned. I have been in the game a while, but I am a late starter as regards to getting the games in.
"But I am happy to have the opportunity now and hopefully by scoring goals I can repay the faith shown in me."
