Striker keen to make most of loan spell at Sincil Bank

Lincoln City's on-loan striker Drewe Broughton has revealed that playing for manager Chris Sutton helped him decide to join the Imps. The experienced front man joined the League Two strugglers on a month's loan after failing to nail down a regular starting berth at promotion chasing Rotherham this season. The 31-year-old says he has a lot of time for the ex-Celtic and Blackburn striker after coming through the ranks at Norwich whilst Sutton was an established member of the first team at Carrow Road. "I'm hoping to stay here and help Lincoln as much as I can first, then go back and do my bit for Rotherham," Broughton told skysports.com. "I've got a lot of respect for the manager here, Chris Sutton, as I was a young forward at Norwich when he was an established member of the first team there. "If I can go and help them to safety by the end of my loan spell, then I feel I have a part to play for Rotherham after." Target men often do not get a great amount of credit due to the lack of goals they bring to the table, but Broughton insists having a former target man as a manager can help ease the pressure on his shoulders. He added: "It helps having a striker as the gaffer because they understand the role that you play in for the team's benefit. "Mark Robins wasn't the same type of striker as me, but Chris Sutton was and he understands what I bring to the table. So, it does help a little knowing that the manager knows what to expect from me."
