Full-back commits to Lincoln

Lincoln defender Cian Hughton has signed a new contract to keep him at Sincil Bank until the summer of 2011. The 20-year-old, son of Newcastle manager Chris, has impressed since joining the Imps on a six-month deal last July. It was thought he might agree an extension which would run until the end of the current campaign but he has instead been rewarded with a longer contract by manager Chris Sutton. Hughton has made 25 league and cup appearances for Lincoln this season but feels there is still room for improvement. "There have been three managers since I've been here so it's been tough, but I'm glad I've impressed the new boss enough to be part of his plans this season and next," said the versatile full-back. "It's good for me, I'm settled and I know what I'm doing so hopefully I can keep improving."
