Brewers wait on Boertien

Burton Albion are still unable to put a timescale on defender Paul Boertien's return from injury.

Peschisolido does not have high hopes on an early return

Burton are still unable to put a timescale on Paul Boertien's return from injury. The experienced defender has missed three matches since jarring a knee in the 2-1 win at Grimsby in October. It was hoped the 30-year-old would be fit for last weekend's home game against Bury but he missed the goalless draw and looks set to remain sidelined for Albion's FA Cup first-round tie against Oxford City on Sunday. "Jimmy Phillips recently came back from his injury much sooner than we expected, so it's always difficult to predict when people will be playing again," said Brewers boss Paul Peschisolido. "But I think it will be a while yet before Boerts is back on the pitch because he took quite a knock on his knee, although he has been able to do some running this week."
