Shrewsbury Town striker Dave Hibbert is confident he will be fit to reclaim his place in the team for Saturday's game against Notts County.

Hibbert, Town's top goalscorer this season with eight in all competitions, has missed the last three games due to an Achilles injury, but he is now back in the fold ahead of the tough trip to Meadow Lane.

"I've trained for the first time, I'm feeling pain-free so it's great," said Hibbert. "I'll hopefully be involved for the game on Saturday."

Having suffered an injury-plagued campaign last term, Hibbert has come into his own this season as Shrews look to fill the void created by Grant Holt's departure to Norwich.

He added: "I'm getting a lot more opportunities. I started the season and I haven't looked back, that's what I wanted to do.

"I've scored eight so far, I've missed a couple of games, but I'm itching to get back and get among the goals again.

"It's down to hard work, staying focused and believing in myself. I was determined this season was going to be a good season. So far it's been a good start, but I'm determined to carry it on."
