Grimsby Town have handed trials to Ryan Crowther and Ben Osman as manager Mike Newell looks to improve his squad.
Newell is determined to inject some fresh blood into his ranks following Grimsby's disappointing start to the season which sees the club lie 22nd in the League Two table.
Midfield duo Crowther and Osman have been given a chance to earn deals at Blundell Park after training with Newell's squad on Tuesday.
Both players are also pencilled in to feature for the reserves against Huddersfield Town on Wednesday as they look to kick-start their careers.
Crowther is a free agent after leaving Liverpool before the close of the transfer window, having spent two years at Anfield following his arrival from Stockport County.
Osman, who is the son of former Ipswich Town defender Russell, has previous experience at Exeter City and Wrexham.
