Brentford have made a fresh enquiry regarding Carlisle's Cleveland Taylor, but the Cumbrians insist the club will come first in any possible deal.
The 25-year-old winger handed in a transfer request in the summer and was a target for the Bees in pre-season.
Taylor played for Carlisle in Saturday's defeat to the Londoners and they are still keen to sign the former Scunthorpe man.
However, Cumbrians manager Greg Abbott is not prepared to allow the player to leave if it does not suit the club.
"An enquiry was lodged by Brentford and that's something that we are all aware of." Abbott told the club's official website.
He added: "If we can do something with that then we will look at it, but it isn't about Cleveland in a situation like this.
"The club comes first on this one. He will move when I am ready for him to move, so he has to work behind me a little bit on this."
