Winger in line to make debut against Hereford

Charlton Athletic have snapped up former Sheffield Wednesday winger Wade Small on a non-contract basis. Small had been available on a free transfer after he was released by Championship side Wednesday at the end of last season after three years at Hillsborough. He had spent the latter stages of the last campaign on loan at Blackpool before linking up with Charlton boss Phil Parkinson's squad in pre-season. The 25-year-old featured in several of the Addicks' friendlies and has done enough to earn a short-term deal at The Valley. Small could be in line to make his Charlton debut on Tuesday after being included in Parkinson's squad for the Carling Cup first round tie at Hereford United.
