Twaddle returns as Clarets starlet arrives on loan

Falkirk have sealed the double signing of Marc Twaddle and Alex MacDonald. Midfielder MacDonald has joined Falkirk on a six-month loan deal from Burnley as Owen Coyle looks for him to get some first-team action under his belt. Twaddle returns to Falkirk after a two-year spell at Partick Thistle after he turned down a new deal at Firhill. Partick boss Ian McCall told the club's official website: "I think Marc became a little restless with all the speculation that was surrounding him and it became clear that he wasn't going to sign an extension to his contract. "At that point I got back in contact with Falkirk and gave them an idea of the kind of deal that we would accept for Marc. Following discussions between myself, Allan Cowan and Tom Hughes we all felt that this was the best deal for Partick Thistle. "That's about £200,000 worth of transfer fees that we have brought in during the course of the summer which, for teams at our level, is virtually unheard of. "While sorry to see Marc go I am also happy for him. He is a smashing lad who was excellent on the pitch and in the dressing room and he leaves Firhill with the best wishes of all of us."
