Wycombe have confirmed the signing of former Peterborough defender Chris Westwood on a two-year deal.

Defender hoping his experience will be of benefit

Wycombe Wanderers have confirmed the signing of former Peterborough United defender Chris Westwood on a two-year contract. Westwood's contract with Posh was cancelled earlier this week and he had been expected to link up with League One new boys Wycombe. He has now finalised his move to Adams Park and is looking forward to playing for Peter Taylor's side after two seasons at Peterborough. "As soon as I heard Wycombe were interested I wanted to talk," Westwood told the club's official website. "I had a meeting with Peter Taylor, he explained his vision for the club and I think it's an exciting place to come - especially given what was achieved last season." The 32-year-old added: "I've gone up from that league (League Two) twice before, so hopefully I can lend my experience to the squad whilst I'm here. "When you come into a new league, especially if you've just been promoted, you always start with a positive frame of mind. You look to kick on, the gaffer here has big hopes for the club and I think everyone can see that."
