The Millwall striker spent the final few months of the previous campaign on loan at Blundell Park.
The 30-year-old bagged three goals in his 15 appearances for Mike Newell's side as they clambered away from the relegation trapdoor.
The former Norwich trainee is now poised to complete his move to Blundell Park later this week.
