Aldershot boss Gary Waddock admits he may not have enough cash to lure striker Jake Robinson to the Hampshire club.
Waddock had hoped to strike up a deal with the out-of contract frontman after he was released by Brighton.
However, with Shrewsbury also in the hunt for his signature, the Shots boss feels he may be priced out of a move.
Working under a strict budget, Waddock may be forced to look elsewhere in his quest to bolster his attacking options.
"What we can give him is nowhere near what he has been offered elsewhere," he told the News and Mail.
