Midfielder happy to complete permanent move to Christie Park

Morecambe have completed the permanent signing of on-loan midfielder Mark Duffy for a fee of £20,000. Duffy has made nine appearances for Morecambe since arriving from Southport in February and has now signed a two-year contract. He has enjoyed his chance to play in League Two and had no hesitation in agreeing a long-term deal at Christie Park. "I have had a great time since joining on loan and was only too happy to sign," Duffy told the club's official website. "It has been a big learning curve for me so far, but I am keen to learn and keep on improving and am looking forward to next year already. "The lads have been great and everyone has made me really welcome.'' Shrimps boss Sammy McIlroy was happy to secure his first signing since the end of the regular season and has backed Duffy to be a big success. McIlroy said: "Everyone knows Mark is a player I have admired for a long time and I think he has a great future in the game. "He has already shown us that he has a lot to offer with quick feet and a good attitude and I am delighted to have him at Christie Park.''
